Does Tab Tracker record my private or incognito windows?

Only if you explicitly grant permission in Chrome’s extension management settings (chrome://extensions). By default, Chrome disables extensions in incognito mode.

How does idle detection prevent inflated time?

Tab Tracker listens to system state changes via Chrome’s native idle API. When mouse and keyboard input cease for your system’s default idle threshold, the active counter halts until you return.

Can I recover my data if I uninstall the extension?

Because data is kept strictly in local browser storage, uninstalling the extension deletes the local storage database. Export your history as a JSON file from the Options page before uninstalling if you want to keep a record.

How do I reassign a website’s category?

Open the options dashboard, locate the domain under the Work and Reading configuration area, and pick Work, Reading, or Other from the dropdown menu.

Why does the extension only save up to 30 days?

To maintain instant load times and prevent local storage limits from being exceeded, Tab Tracker maintains a rolling 30-day window alongside your high-level all-time aggregates.
